The Friends of Larkhall Park is made up of local residents with a simple aim to improve the park for the benefit of all local residents and communities.

We hold regular committee meetings in Oasis Play on Priory Grove - please come along if you'd like to find out more about the park and be involved in its improvement.

We have recently started to benefit from a Community Payback project thanks to the London Community Rehabilitation Company (www.londoncrc.org.uk). Because of local government cutbacks, the maintenance of the park has inevitably reduced so we're incredibly grateful to the project for helping to keep our park looking so nice. As their website says:
"Community Payback provides local communities the opportunity to suggest suitable areas for offenders to rejuvenate as part of their Community Order.
In London, over a million hours of Community Payback are completed every year by offenders. This is a significant volume of unpaid work which benefits local communities across the capital, as offenders pay back for the crimes they have committed.
Community Payback projects include litter removal, clearing dense undergrowth and environmental improvements, repairing and redecorating community centres and removing graffiti."
The Friends of Larkhall Park Group was formed in 1996 by local residents to promote Larkhall Park and to campaign for improvements. Since then the Friends have worked with Lambeth Council to achieve major and lasting improvements to the park.

These achievements include:

2007 - Wandsworth Road entrance redevelopment (funded by European Union Funds), five a side football pitch and basketball court (funded by Football Association/Sports England/European Union Development Fund and Nike Sports Equipment) and the children's playground adjacent to the tennis court.
2011 - Outdoor gym funded by Community Spaces Big Lottery fund.
2012 - New tennis courtsfunded by Section 106 funds from Southbank University building conversion to residential units.
2012 - Trial seeded meadow grass area by Priory Grove funded by Lambeth Parks.
2013 - The Priory Grove entrance was re-designed, funded by Lambeth Highways.
